Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Vyrai collects, why, and your choices — for both this website and the Vyrai mobile app (coming soon). We keep to a simple principle: collect only what the challenge needs, keep your travel history private by default, and never sell your data.
What we collect
- Waitlist email (website). If you join the waitlist, we store your email address so we can tell you when Vyrai launches — nothing else.
- Contact messages (website). If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email, and message so we can reply. These are delivered to us through Web3Forms.
- Account (app). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and a stable Google account identifier used to sync your data to your account. You also provide your birth date — used only to set your ticket cap and confirm you're 18+ — and your display currency.
- Your travel data (app). The trips and legs you log — cities, transport mode, self-reported ticket prices, and dates — plus the score computed from them.
- Location (app, optional). If you turn on auto-detection, the app uses your device location to notice when you've traveled and propose a leg for you to confirm. It's opt-in, you can turn it off any time, and no leg is ever logged without your confirmation.
- Photos (app, optional). If you buy the photo add-on for a journey, the photos you attach are made public on your map. Only add photos you're comfortable sharing.
- Crash diagnostics. The app sends anonymous crash reports (via Sentry) so we can fix bugs. These capture crashes only — not your browsing or behaviour — and we strip personal information from them.
How we use it
To run the challenge and compute your score, sync your data across your devices, show your score and display name on the leaderboard, propose auto-detected legs, notify you at launch, reply to your messages, and keep the service secure and working. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
What's public and what's private
Your travel history is private to you. What's public is limited to your score and display name on the leaderboard, plus any cities or photos you deliberately choose to share to the map. You control what you make public, and precise location is never shown — the map works at the city level.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small set of processors to run Vyrai, and share only what each needs to do its job:
- Google — sign-in and identity verification.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, our backend, and database storage.
- Sentry — anonymous crash reports.
- Web3Forms — delivering contact-form messages to us.
- Apple & Google — processing the optional photo add-on purchase.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account from within the app at any time — this removes your profile, trips, and score from our servers. To have your waitlist email or a contact message removed, just ask us via the contact form. We keep data only as long as it's needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.
Security & where data is processed
We protect your data with encryption in transit and reputable infrastructure providers. Vyrai runs on Cloudflare's global network, so your data may be processed in data centres outside your country.
Age requirement
Vyrai is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes & contact
We'll update this policy as Vyrai grows and revise the date above when we do. Questions or a privacy request? Reach us through the contact form.
